Gutted is a very common British word used to express deep disappointment or sadness. If your favorite football team loses in the final minute, you’re "gutted." It implies a feeling of being emotionally emptied or devastated by bad news. It’s a very visceral way to say you're upset and is heard constantly in sports and everyday life.

You use it to tell others that you or someone else is really disappointed about something. It is frequently used in the UK.
